Life Care Center to offer classes

Life Care Center of Kona, a local skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is offering certified nursing assistant classes to the community beginning Sept. 4.

According to Executive Director Maryedith Motas-Liberato, the classes will be taught by a registered nurse at the center, and enrolled students will have the opportunity to work with the facility’s patients to gain practical, hands-on experience. The classes will be completely free, and the center will pay the state certification examination fee for all students who complete the program.

“We are excited to get this program going so we can better meet the needs of the West Hawaii community,” Regional Vice President Mark Mann said about starting the program.

Enrollment for the Sept. 4 set of classes is open until Aug. 15 to anyone over 18. Interested candidates can contact the facility’s human resources director at 808-322-2790 to learn more or apply.

Located at 78-6957 Kamehameha III Road, Life Care Center of Kona is one of four skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Hawaii managed by Life Care Centers of America.
